I've just bought a couple sites from the sitepoint marketplace. If you take the time to sort through what comes up there you can find some worthwhile sites. There not many that are low risk and low maintenance but if you can spot them its worth it as an investment.

In hindsight I overpaid for the first one I bought because I havent been able to monetize it as well as I thought, but I've got a few others that will pay for themselves in 6-12 months. These sites should still be worth what I paid in 6-12months, and be brining in a few grand a month.
