T-Shirts - Star Wars Costume Shirts

Ok, these are just too cool not to mention.

Today is Halloween and to commemorate the event here are some really awesome Star Wars t-shirts that can double as a costume.

For instance…be Darth Vader.

Darth Vader

There is Darth, R2-D2, a Stormtrooper, and Chewbacca. The only one that is missing is Boba Fett.

Happy Halloween!

T-shirt Friday: I’d rather be cruising

So, Sunday I leave on my cruise…

I can’t tell you how excited I am. Its the first vacation my wife and I have had for about 3 years, and it is the first time we have left the little one in the arms of the grandparents (I love grandparents!).

So in that vein, here are some t-shirts that revolve in some way shape or form with “cruise”.

Cruising

Ok, this shirt is a bit cheesy, but it pretty much sums up how I have been feeling for the last couple of weeks. :P

Ghostrider

When I was a kid, there was no one cooler than Maverick. I mean seriously…my brother and I must have spent hours perfecting the Maverick/Goose handslap.

“I feel the need…”

Now it is so cheesy, I can’t even finish the phrase. Who knew that Maverick would one day go from wingman to couch jumping weirdo?

ADD

This one was just too good to pass up…and it is oddly appropriate.

See y’all in a week.

T-shirt Friday: Freelancin’

So, if have read my about page, then you know that I am a freelancer and run my own tiny (i.e. me) web development firm (Visionary Online - the site is about to be revamped…).

Secretly I like the name “freelancer” because it makes me feel like some cool mercenary that you see in the video games and movies. If I wasn’t a such a wuss I might have made a name for myself in the “guns for hire” industry…that or maybe it is my aversion to actually shooting at people (exception…I am brutal with a nerf gun).

But I digress…

Like most freelancers, I charge by the hour. Which is why this shirt from prankplace.com struck me as funny.

Don't Rush Me

It reminds me of some stories some “old timers” (like over 35) tell me. Back in the day a lot of programmers got paid by the line. You should see some of those programs! I bet you didn’t know it too 250 lines, 3 functions, and a loop to write “Hello World”. :P

T-shirt Friday: Double Star Wars Goodness

My older brother is one of the biggest Star Wars fans on the planet. He has all 6 movies memorized, is a member of several fan clubs, and is a collector…he literally owns just about every toy known to man and even has 2 or 3 high-end lightsaber replicas.

Being I am the younger brother, guess who also is a Star Wars fan? While no where close to the level of my brother, I am definitely a fan I liked the originals better, of course, but I am not completely against the new trilogy like some (although Jar Jar deserves a swift beating).

With that said, I love Star Wars t-shirts. There are a lot of them out there. Some (like the double dose below) are funny…some are kinda dumb. Not sure what differentiates the two, but there is a fine line there somewhere.

The first shirt is from splitreason.com. It doesn’t make a whole lotta sense, but I have always believed that half of the bleeps and bloops R2-D2 was spouting were expletives of some sort. So this shirt just kinda goes with that theme.

R2D2

The second t-shirt of the day (I couldn’t help myself) was originally a submission on Threadless, but apparently was never sold there. However, you can find it at Lucky Threadz.

The art style of this shirt is great…just kinda iconic. It just works on so many levels that I think it is one of the better Star Wars shirts out there.

Tshirt Friday - I miss my NES

So I gotta Xbox 360 recently, and when I got it the guy at Gamestop gave me this long list of instructions on how to make sure that I don’t damage it, or let it overheat, or breath on it funny.

Then a couple of weeks later I got NBA Street: Homecourt (cool game by the way) and the dude at Best Buy gave me this spiel about how the DVD’s are very prone to getting scratched and you should get the “extra protection”…blah blah blah.

Then I saw this shirt from nerdyshirts.com and it made me reminisce about the old NES I had when I was a kid.

Not working? Slap it a few times.

Game acting funky? Don’t forget to blow in it.

Get mad at your game? Throw the controller against the wall.

There was absolutely nothing you could do to that thing to make it break…well you could set it on fire or something, but no normal beating would damage it.

However, my Xbox, which must be 4 times as expensive, will start to freakout if I even look at it the wrong way. Don’t get me wrong, I love my new toy…but there is something to be learned by the old NES.

Ah the memories…

Tshirt Friday - Found my Haiku

So when I stumbled onto Threadless about 6 - 8 months ago, I found the “Haiku” shirt and I thought it was hilarious. Great story.

Well the sad part was it was sold out and has been till now! Yea!

So I finally was able to purchase my Haiku shirt. Go me.

Haiku

T-shirt Friday - I found Waldo!

Anyone remember the whole “Where’s Waldo” fad that happened oh…10 - 15 years ago?

When I was a kid I used to babysit for a little boy who had a million of those books. I sat there for hours (kids can take care of themselves right?) and try to find that little bugger.

Well, I am proud to announce that I have finally found him, and he is now stuck to my newest t-shirt. Sweet.

I found Waldo!

T-shirt Friday: Sweep the leg

Karate Kid was just one of those movies that was so cool at the time, and now is just pure cheese.

Wax on…Wax off
The crane kick (you would soooo get your butt kicked if you tried that in real life)
BONZAI!!!! (nothin’ is more exciting to a 16 year old than a little tree…)

I love it.

This shirt from 80stees is a great example of the over-the-top dialog in this movie. Definitely on my “gotta get it” list.

Sweep the leg

Hungry Hungry

When I was a kid hungry hungry hippos was one of my alltime favorite games. Looking back I have no idea why, but to a 10 year old that game was just “rad”.

So then there is this tshirt from bustedtees, which is just too funny.

Hungry Hungry

I had seen this shirt before several weeks ago, but never bought it. Now they are out of my size…puh.
